OTTAWA, Ontario - June 1, 2015. For the third year running, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) has designated June as National Electricity Month in Canada. Accordingly, CEA, in partnership with its corporate utility members, will kick-off the month on June 1 with facility tours, activities, speeches, and special events across the country.
In addition, a new suite of interactive electricity literacy tools are now available on www.powerforthefuture.ca, including a virtual open house that will offer Canadians the opportunity to tour various facilities and projects and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes to bring power to their homes and businesses.
National Electricity Month invites Canadians to learn more about the value that electricity brings to their everyday lives. By allowing consumers to see how the system works first-hand, CEA hopes to foster a national conversation about the choices that need to be made today if Canada is to maintain a reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity grid in the years to come.
