Future Supply Plan: 2030 and beyond engagement project

Historically reliant on fossil fuels, SaskPower must change the way it generates power to decarbonize the grid while meeting an increasing demand for power. To prepare for this challenge, SaskPower took public and stakeholder input on how the province is powered beyond 2030.

To do this, SaskPower’s supply planning team worked closely with the stakeholder and engagement team to gather public input through the Future Supply Plan – 2030 and Beyond engagement project. The project’s focus is on supporting participation in Saskatchewan’s power future from a broad range of people without requiring a technical background in electricity.

In total, SaskPower has engaged up to 60,000 Saskatchewan residents during the process. And now, that input is being used to inform SaskPower’s approach for the future. The final plan, Guiding Our Power Future 2024 is scheduled for release by the end of 2024.
