The Canadian Electric Vehicle Awards Program is a joint initiative between Plug’n Drive and Electricity Canada. Launched in 2014, the program currently features four award categories recognizing the leading dealerships, electricity companies, and EV advocates promoting the adoption of EVs in Canada and making positive contributions to a clean energy future. On an annual basis, entries are evaluated by an external judging committee comprised of Canadian EV experts drawn from industry, non-profit organizations, government, and the media.

The winners will be announced at the Awards luncheon on September 12, 2024 in Halifax at EVVE 2024, Canada's biggest electric vehicle event held annually by Electric Mobility Canada, the hosting sponsor of the Awards program.

Leading Electric Vehicle Dealership Award
Awarded to Canadian car dealerships excelling in the sale and promotion of new fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric cars powered entirely or in part by Canada’s clean and reliable electricity
Mike Brigham Used Electric Vehicle Dealership Award
Awarded to Canadian car dealerships excelling in the sale and promotion of used fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric cars that are powered entirely or in part by Canada’s clean and reliable electricity.
This award is delivered in honour of Mike Brigham, an environmental advocate and philanthropist supporting many different environmental causes, with a special focus on climate change. He believes strongly in the role EVs can play in decarbonizing transportation. He has generously supported Clean Air Partnership to fund a variety of initiatives in collaboration with Plug’n Drive including the Used EV and Scrappage incentive programs.
Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Leadership Award
Awarded to Canadian electricity companies demonstrating outstanding leadership in the promotion or advancement of electric vehicle adoption.
This award is delivered in honour of Tom Mitchell, who served as the President and CEO of Ontario Power Generation (OPG) from 2009 to 2015. His legacy includes significant advancement of OPG's clean and renewable energy projects. It was his leadership and vision that made Plug’n Drive possible.
Electric Vehicle Awareness Award
Awarded to Canadian non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charities, or community groups demonstrating outstanding leadership in the promotion or advancement of electric vehicle adoption in a given year.
