Ottawa (November 24, 2021) – Today, the Canadian Electricity Association and Plug’n Drive announced the winners of the 2021 Canadian Electric Vehicle Awards. The awards now in their sixth year, recognize car dealerships, electrical utilities and community organizations that displayed outstanding leadership in the promotions and sales of electric vehicles in Canada. ATCO, is being honoured with the 2021 Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Utility Leadership for its excellence in developing EV infrastructure, initiatives and promotion of electric vehicles in Alberta.
“Electrification of the transportation sector is essential to addressing climate change. Events like the Canadian Electric Vehicle awards highlight the ingenuity and creativity it will take to help us decarbonize Canada and meet our climate goals using clean electricity”, commented Francis Bradley, President and CEO of the Canadian Electricity Association.
The Electric Vehicle Awards recognized Canadian dealerships that excelled in the sale and promotion of new or used fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles; Canadian electrical utilities with an EV vehicle or charging station program in place throughout 2020; and for the first time, Canadian environmental non-profit organizations, charities, or community groups that had active electric vehicle programming in 2020.
“This year’s winners are making both new and used EVs increasingly accessible,” said Cara Clairman, President and CEO of Plug’n Drive, “It is a testament to their efforts that more and more Canadians are making the switch to EVs, delivering environmental and economic benefits that extend beyond their communities to all Canadians.”
The winners were selected by an independent panel of top Canadian EV industry experts from across the energy, auto, charging and media sectors.

- Mike Brigham Used Electric Vehicle Dealership – All EV Canada
