HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - May 26, 2015. The Canadian Electricity Association (CEA), in partnership with Plug'n Drive, announced the winners of the 2015 Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards earlier today at the EV2015VÉ Electric Vehicle Conference and Trade Show in Halifax.
Now in its second year, the Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards is the only program of its kind in Canada that recognizes dealerships who are leaders in the promotion and sale of electric vehicles.
The Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards is sponsored by The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) National and Electric Mobility Canada.

“CEA is proud to recognize these vehicle dealerships who are committed to educating and empowering the public about the benefits of driving an electric vehicle,” said the Honourable Sergio Marchi, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Electricity Association. “It is very encouraging to see the winners from across Canada who are promoting green transportation, which contributes to a future with lower carbon emissions.”
There are currently over 11,000 electric vehicles on the road in Canada and this number continues to grow. Electric vehicle owners save considerable amounts of money on fuel costs because the price of electricity can be as low as one-sixth the cost of gasoline. Furthermore, electric vehicles require less maintenance than gas powered vehicles because their motors do not have multiple moving parts and do not require routine maintenance like oil changes, new mufflers and transmission fluid.
“This year’s winners have made significant efforts to make electric vehicles and information about them accessible,” said Cara Clairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Plug’n Drive. “Collectively, these contributions mean environmental and economic benefits that extend beyond their communities to all Canadians.”
