Don’t forget to download and complete the Rights Waiver.

Your confirmation number must be written on the back of your art piece. Attach your completed rights waiver and drop it in the mail.

The Contest:
There will be a first, second and third place prize for each age category of the competition (twelve prizes in total).

Who can apply?

Canadian residents from the following age groups are eligible to apply:

  • Junior Kindergarten – Grade 3 (with parental consent)
  • Grades 4 – 6 (with parental consent)
  • Grades 7 – 12 (with parental consent)
  • Adults 18+
How do I enter?

Each artist must fill out an online application form and attach their artwork that reflects the future of electricity and electrical innovation.

After your online submission, you will receive and email confirmation number which you must write on the back of your art piece to mail to the Canadian Electricity Association with your completed rights waiver.

Does my artwork have to follow a theme?

Yes, each submission should reflect the future of electricity and electrical innovation theme.

What type of media will be accepted?

The artwork must be a hand-drawn illustration with a background and must not be created, altered or otherwise enhanced in a digital manner. The artwork must be two-dimensional in nature but may include any non-digital artistic medium (any paint including water paint, colour markers, crayons, etc.).

What size should my artwork be?

Artwork must be a maximum height x width x depth of 3 feet (3′) x 3 feet (3′) x 3 inches (3″) and a maximum weight of 15 pounds (15 lbs).

When is the deadline to submit my art?

All original artwork must be delivered to the Canadian Electricity Association no later than Friday, May 15, 2020.

Can I submit more than one piece of art?

No, only one submission per artist will be accepted. If we receive more than one submission from you, we will only consider the first submission received.

How could my art be used?

All artwork submitted may be used by the Canadian Electricity Association and its members in various forms including traditional and social media, marketing materials, etc.

What could I win?

Do I need to submit a digital copy of my artwork AND mail the physical copy to apply?

Yes. Without a physical and digital copy of the art piece the submission will not be eligible.

How are the winners selected?

Winners will be selected by the Canadian Electricity Association staff and an internal judging panel.

When will I know if I won?

Winning artists will be notified in June 2020.
