Long Term Plans for a Competitive Power Market

At the end of this month, CEA’s Chief Operating Officer, Francis Bradley, will be speaking to leaders in the BC power industry to share insights into how to sustain economic competitiveness in BC. Bradley will be delivering a Keynote address at CI Energy Group’s Annual BC Power Symposium on January 30-31 in Vancouver, to explore the challenge of balancing greenhouse gas emission goals while also stimulating the economy through power competitiveness. With lessening participating of the private sector within the BC power industry, the industry is looking for long term opportunities and plans to help position electricity as a development tool and economic catalyst.

Now in its 11th year, CI Energy Group’s Annual BC Power Symposium will be bringing together stakeholders from British Columbia and beyond to help teams meet industry leaders, forge new relationships, and gain the clarity you need to navigate the evolving power sector and drive the province forward.

In addition to Francis Bradley, other speakers include:

Chris O’Riley, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, BC Hydro

Stephen Lucas, Senior Associate Deputy Minister, Environment and Climate Change Canada

Hon. Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy and Mines, Government of British Columbia

Paul Chernikhowsky, Director, Engineering Services, FortisBC

J Todd Smith, Director, Infrastructure, British Columbia Utilities Commission
